THE DESIGN

The GDS jumpsuit takes both form and function into account. It has giant side pockets, a secret mini-pocket on the apron-inspired top, adjustable closures, and tapered pant legs. It was proudly designed to be worn on the runway of Fibershed's Climate Beneficial Fashion Gala.

SIZING

There is only one Climate Beneficial Jumpsuit in size 2. Because the closures are all adjustable, our jumpsuit fits sizes ranging between 0 and 4. You may contact us to schedule a fitting before making your purchase.

COMMUNITY CLOTH

This Jumpsuit is made from Community Supported Cloth, a Climate Beneficial™ Wool using fiber grown in Northern California by Lani’s Lana and woven by Huston Textile Company. Scroll down to learn more about the cloth.

WHERE IT'S SEWN

Our jumpsuit was made entirely in our studio in Oakland, California. With hand-finished seams this jumpsuit looks as beautiful inside as it does on the outside.

ABOUT THE CLOTH

The first fabric of its kind, Community Supported Cloth was developed with support from Fibershed, a nonprofit organization working to strengthen regional and regenerative fiber systems. The wool was raised in the Surprise Valley of California on a ranch that is building soil health and restoring the ecosystem, guided by a Carbon Farm Plan. With agricultural practices like compost application, tree planting, and well-timed sheep grazing, Lani's Lana is measurably sequestering carbon, improving the local environment and our global climate. Through carbon farming, Lani's Lana wool will effectively offset 6 to 9 times its own Greenhouse Gas emissions, and with a 3% donation to Fibershed's Carbon Farm Fund -- which directly activates these on-the-ground practices -- built into the cost of this cloth, this is a textile you can truly feel good about wearing.

This 100% wool cloth is a completely US supply chain supporting family-owned mills like Jagger Brothers, in Maine, who spun the yarn, and Huston Textile Company, in California, who wove the fabric. Working with vintage, mechanical looms, Huston Textile Company is the only West Coast weaving operation of its kind, with a handcrafted touch and selvedge quality strength. Zero additives or finishing agents have been added to this cloth, for a fully traceable and farm-fresh fabric. Learn more at fibershed.com. Community Supported Cloth can be purchased by the yard by individuals, and is available at lanislana.com.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Follow these suggestions to extend the life of your garment. We recommend washing the Community Cloth Jumpsuit by hand in cold water. Treat spots and stains by soaking the smock for an hour and gently rubbing a little extra soap into areas needing that extra attention. Always air drying instead of tossing in the dryer. After washing, flatten any wrinkles by hand and dry flat. Windows and sunny areas are great places for air drying garments. Check out our Care Manuals for more details.
